I know it has been a while since I last checked in, but I have been busy with LIFE.
Do you ever get so busy with life that by night fall, your body is exhausted and thus is your mind, and the only thing you want to do is REST? Well, SISTAH, that has been your girl!!!!
For those of you who don't know I am a full-time therapist and a mom of three, that's right THREE, and guess what? They are all on different spectrums. I have a 15 year old, 4 year old and 1 year old, so my MOMMA life is wrapped tight!!! I work out, I write, I cook, I counsel people ALL day with various dimensions of mental health needs. I.E. I deal with individuals who have co-occurring disorders and serious mental health issues and I absolutely LOVE IT!!!!
It is a true calling!!! However, somedays my personal balance is completely out of order.
So I am writing to encourage YOU to take inventory of your emotions.
MAY is not only the month is which we celebrate mother's, but it is also national mental health awareness month!!! So I need you to take care of YOU, while you are taking care of everyone else!!!
When was the last time you had a spa day?
When was the last time you soaked in the bath tub and inhaled some aromatherapy?
WITH NO DISTRACTIONS
When was the last time you celebrated SELF, for doing an awesome job and being the best version of you that YOU CAN BE?
When was the last time you took a walk for the purpose of simply giving THANKS?
Think ABOUT IT? What type of legacy do you want to leave behind.
Teach yourself balance and show your kids and your family that it is okay to say
NO, I cannot today, because today is ALL ABOUT ME!!!!
